110: Report from Guido

FOA Captain Schutzmann, Report #04 - Hausnung Ambush Noting 1) our ongoing dialogue re. behaviour, and 2) the performance appraisal I have previously issued, please see below my summary of the events.

KITUM council meeting # 27: A reasonable discussion took place on the strategical nuances of our planned ambush in Hausnung. I was not able to minute it, but I can confirm that Sergeant Friederik Denkhfel (FD) showed tactical acumen and Vincentious (V) did, at least, appear to listen. Frau Hoffnung (BH) contributed little, likely for the best. Haricot Chard (HC) sent apologies for his absence, which also was for the best. It was not clear where he had disappeared to.

Ambush preparation: BH started well by following the plan and ordered the house staff to move mattresses into the ambush rooms so we could take turns sleeping. She then dismissed them for the night. RECOMMENDATION: a commendation for consideration of civilian safety.

Unfortunately, shortly after, BH demonstrated lack of discipline by deviating from our plan. She went off to heat a pan of oil as a weapon.

Ambush: During the "ambush period", I note that all 3 showed discipline by maintaining their positions.

Unfortunately, at the first sound of trouble (footsteps on the ground floor), discipline went out the window faster than a Tilean chasing a wayward meatball.

BH panicked, broke rank, and ran ("tottered" I believe she later described it) into the nearby bedroom to collect her oil weapon. She then waited at the top of the stairs with the pan of scalding oil, a brace of loaded pistols, a loaded blunderbuss, and an unprotected flame.

RECKLESS/FECKLESS/DANGEROUS. RECOMMENDATION: minor disciplinary action.

In her position at the top of the stairs, she failed to notice someone sneaking to the bottom of the stairs and leaving a letter. POOR GUARD DUTY. RECOMMENDATION: minor disciplinary action.

FD and I (GSM) proceeded downstairs where we found the letter, which read "Meet us at Pity Square in one hour".

In hindsight, I note that by doing this, I left BH behind us, at the top of the stairs with the pan of scalding oil, a brace of loaded pistols, a loaded blunderbuss, and an unprotected flame. I RECOMMEND MYSELF FOR DISCIPLINARY ACTION FOR POOR STRATEGIC POSITIONING. TO REITERATE, BH HAS DEMONSTRABLE HISTORY OF SHOOTING COMRADES IN THE BACK.

KITEM Council meeting #28: A second council of the night was held, but again, I was not able to minute it. It was decided that the most strategic approach was to leave the house unguarded and head to the rendezvous point. To be clear, that was my recommendation, and I am pleased to report that rest of the council had the wherewithal to heed my advice. The council then proceeded to equip themselves with appropriate weaponry, accessories, and PPE, and proceed to the meeting point.
